An Israeli airstrike in Aleppo, Syria, results in casualties and significant material damage.

The Israeli government has initiated a fresh act of aggression targeting the northwestern Syrian city of Aleppo, resulting in casualties and inflicting some material damage.

Quoting an anonymous military source, Syria's official SANA news agency reported a fresh airstrike originating from the southeastern direction of Aleppo shortly after midnight on Monday. The strike, according to the report, targeted various locations near Aleppo, resulting in casualties and some material damage. However, the statement from the Syrian military source did not specify the number of casualties or whether they were military personnel or civilians. Other media outlets indicated that the attack resulted in the deaths of 17 individuals and injuries to 15 others.

This recent aggression follows Israeli airstrikes last Wednesday, which targeted different areas across Syria, resulting in the deaths of four individuals, including a child. These attacks targeted a central site and a residential building in Baniyas city in Syria's coastal region, as well as the countryside near the eastern city of Homs.

Earlier, an Israeli drone strike targeted vehicles outside the western Syrian city of al-Qusayr, south of Homs and near Syria's border with Lebanon. Following this attack, reports suggested that two members of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah were killed.

The Tel Aviv regime's frequent attacks on Syrian territory, which have escalated since October, coincide with its aggressive actions against Palestinians in Gaza. Many view these strikes as provocative and likely to escalate tensions in the region.\

Israel rarely comments on these attacks, which are often seen as reactionary measures to Syria's successes in combating terrorism. Since the outbreak of foreign-backed militancy in Syria in 2011, Israel has been accused of supporting terrorist groups opposing the government of President Bashar al-Assad.
