A US drone strike hit the headquarters of the Iraqi anti-terrorism paramilitary group Harakat Al-Nujaba in eastern Baghdad, killing or wounding several of the movement's militants, including a senior commander.
Al-Manar's correspondent in Baghdad reported that the group's commander-in-chief, Taleb Al-Saidi, known as "Hajj Abu Taqwa", was among the martyrs in the attack on Palestine Street in Baghdad.
The Reuters news agency also reported the attack, adding that two militants were killed and five others injured.
Al-Nujaba is a counter-terrorism paramilitary group comprised of the 12th Brigade of the Hashd Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces), an umbrella group for Iraqi resistance groups.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a network of shadow paramilitary groups in Iraq, has claimed responsibility for most of the recent drone attacks against US interests in Iraq and Syria since mid-October, in response to Washington's support for Israeli occupation in its brutal war against Gaza.
The following video, published by Sabereen News, shows the site of the attack that killed the commander-in-chief.
