Russian President Vladimir Putin has conveyed profound sadness regarding the martyrdom of Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi, describing it as "a significant loss."

President Putin made the remarks during a meeting with State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin in Moscow on Tuesday.

“President Raisi's death is above all a great loss to Iran and its people. He was a very reliable partner and a direct and confident person who was motivated by the national interest, "Putin said.

He also called the late President Iran, "the man of his words," added, "If you agree with him, you can always make sure that these agreements are satisfied."

In addition, President Putin is ready for Moscow to continue cooperation with Iran in flight management, promising as much as possible to secure Russia's continuation and development in the same way. He pointed out. Millions of Iranians are attending a mass funeral for President Ibrahim Raisi and his associates who were killed in a helicopter crash in Tabriz.

President Putin announced that Russia is ready to assist Iran in investigating the cause of the helicopter crash that killed Raisi and his accompanying delegation. The Russian president also asked President Borodin, who is scheduled to travel to Tehran on Wednesday to attend the president's funeral, to convey his heartfelt condolences to Islamic revolutionary leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

President Putin earlier expressed his condolences, calling Raisi a true friend who seriously strived to increase the level of strategic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Iran's interim President Mokbel.

Raisi died on Sunday along with his accompanying delegation, which included Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahian, when their helicopter crashed in the Dismar Forest in East Azerbaijan province. Rescuers found the wreckage of the helicopter early Monday morning after hours of an extensive search involving more than 70 teams.

President Raisi was returning from a location on the border with the Republic of Azerbaijan, where he and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the dam. World leaders expressed their condolences to the Iranian people after this tragic loss.
