Israeli airstrike kills Hezbollah fighter and two children in southern Lebanon

The Israeli regime has carried out airstrikes on two villages far from Lebanon's border with the occupied territories, killing one Hezbollah fighter and two children.

The deaths occurred on Friday in the villages of Nadyarie and Adussie, about 30 kilometers (19 miles) from the border, campaign groups and the state news agency NNA reported.

Hezbollah said one fighter in Najariyeh was killed, while the NNA said "two Syrian children" were also killed in the attack on the village.

An AFP photographer said the attack hit a pickup truck and an orchard in Najaryeh.

On Thursday, the movement launched a drone strike and a series of rocket attacks against Israeli military positions in the northern part of the occupied territory.

A day earlier, Hezbollah carried out a series of attacks against several Israeli targets after the regime assassinated one of the group's top field commanders. Hussein Ibrahim Mekki died as a martyr in the Israeli military attack on the southern Lebanese city of Tire.

The Israeli regime has carried out sporadic attacks against Lebanon since launching its genocidal war against the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023. The attack led to a gunfight with Hezbollah.

In Lebanon, the Israeli invasion reportedly claimed at least 418 lives, and Hezbollah's retaliation claimed 24 lives.

Hezbollah fought two Israeli-Lebanon wars in 2000 and 2006, both of which forced the humiliating withdrawal of Tel Aviv regime forces.
