Israeli Hermes 900 drone targeted by missile from Hezbollah over south Lebanon

The allied forces of resistance in Lebanon with Hezbollah managed to intercept an Israeli drone and shot it down while flying in the skies of southern Lebanon, near the border with the territories of the so-called Jewish state.

Lebanon's al-Manar television channel, quoting a short Hezbollah statement, said the group downed an Israeli Hermes drone with suitable munitions over Lebanese territory on Saturday afternoon.

It said that the operation was carried out after the careful tracking of the Zionist enemy movement.

The Israeli military later acknowledged in a communique that one of their drones was shot down in southern Lebanon.

It said that a missile from the surface hit the Hermes 900 flying in the area.

The Hermes 900 is a medium-altitude UAV claimed to fly for over 36 hours duration and up to 9,144 meters while carrying a maximum payload weight of 350 kilograms.

It was the fourth Israeli drone that Hezbollah has managed to shoot down over the skies of southern Lebanon. Two were of the Hermes 450 type, and two other new Hermes 900 models in recent months.

On Saturday morning, a motorbike driving along the road was struck by an Israeli drone in Majdel Selm village, Marjeyoun district, south Lebanon.

At the same time, an Israeli tank shelled the border town of Kfarkila while Israeli interceptor missiles exploded above Mays al-Jabal.

Hezbollah, meanwhile, said that it responded to the attack on Majdal Selm by putting suicide drones over the Yiftah Barracks north of Israeli forces, inflicting "certain casualties."

The Lebanese resistance movement further declared the launch of a missile attack on the Israeli al-Baghdadi outpost.

The Zionist regime began its large-scale attacks on the Gaza Strip on October 7 after the occupied Palestinian territory's Hamas-led resistance groups, in a surprise revenge attack against the occupation entity, called Operation Al-Aqsa Storm. The Israeli military has been targeting the Lebanese territory. As a result, leading Hezbollah to retaliate with attacks in support of the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip. He also said the movement would continue its retaliatory operations as long as the regime in Tel Aviv keeps up its onslaught on Gaza. The Israeli campaign in Gaza killed at least 36,379 people, most of them women and children, while another 82,407 have been reported wounded.
