Man Charged in the U.S. for Leaking Classified Documents on Israeli Attack Plans Against Iran
Asif William Rahman was arrested by the FBI this week in Cambodia and was due to make a court appearance in Guam.
The Rasht-Caspian Railway Project was inaugurated on Thursday in northern Iran, attended by Iran's acting President Mohammad Mokhber, Minister of Transport and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash, Russia's presidential aide Igor Levitin, Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Astrakhan Oblast Governor Igor Babushkin, and ambassadors from neighboring countries.
This 37-kilometer railway completes the Qazvin-Rasht rail route, linking Rasht city to the Caspian Sea. It aims to significantly enhance regional connectivity and bolster transportation and trade networks among Iran, the Caspian Sea states, and southward railway connections.
The inauguration of the Rasht-Caspian Railway, a joint effort of Iran, Russia, and Azerbaijan, took place on June 20, 2024, in northern Iran. The project is expected to streamline transportation for both freight and passengers, providing a more efficient and economical mode of travel.
During the ceremony, Acting President Mokhber emphasized Iran's pivotal role in West Asia, stressing that regional countries cannot overlook Iran's positions when making critical decisions. He also highlighted Iran's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS, as well as its cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union, underscoring Iran's evolving international influence and its impact on global dynamics.
