Yemen's military spokesperson announces targeting the US aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Red Sea in retaliation for deadly overnight US attacks on Yemen.
"In a televised statement, Yahya Saree, Yemen's military spokesperson, announced a joint military operation by the missile and naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces targeting the American aircraft carrier 'Eisenhower' in the Red Sea. Saree described the operation as successful, thanks to Allah, and emphasized that it was in response to US and UK aerial strikes across Yemen, which he condemned as violations of international law and war crimes.
The attacks in Yemen's capital Sana’a, as well as in Hudaydah and Taiz, targeted civilian areas, resulting in casualties and damage. Saree vowed that Yemen would retaliate against any further aggression on its territory, targeting hostile American and British assets in the Red and Arabian seas.
Since the start of the Gaza war, Yemen has responded to attacks by American and British warships with strikes on their assets in nearby waters. Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, Yemeni leader, pledged to escalate military operations in support of Palestinians.
In Sana'a, thousands gathered to express solidarity with Palestine, praising Yemeni military actions against US, UK, and Israeli vessels. Similar rallies occurred in other Yemeni regions, denouncing the systematic oppression faced by Palestinians and showing ongoing support for Gaza."
