The US Education Department has protested Joe Israel and spoken about Palestinians since the beginning of the Gaza war.
The American American Palestine, Polynes Dark Habash, pale, described his position and explained his resignation on Wednesday.
"The actions of Bidden-Harris lived millions of years, lived in millions of innocent people, and lived with the constant Israeli government of violent and national purified gas. That's why I have to resign," Habash wrote. "I cannot remain silent while this government turns a blind eye to the abuse of innocent Palestinian lives that leading human rights experts call the Israeli government's genocidal campaign."
Biden voiced strong support for Israel's retaliation for Hamas terror attacks in October, which left nearly 1,200 people dead and more than 240 hostages taken by Palestinian militants. But the two-month operation has reduced much of Gaza to rubble, killing more than 22,000 people and injuring thousands more, according to local health officials.
Despite repeated warnings from international human rights groups, including the United Nations, of a humanitarian disaster in Gaza, Washington offered little public criticism of Israel's campaign and continued to provide military support. Other senior officials have expressed similar concerns, including Josh Paul, an 11-year veteran of the US State Department and longtime director of the Office of Political-Military Affairs, who resigned in October over "blind support" of America for Israel.
"We cannot commit to supporting several key policy decisions, including providing more weapons to one side of the conflict, that are short-sighted, destructive, unjust, and contrary to the values we publicly stand for," Paul said. He wrote a statement explaining his resignation. Biden visited Israel the day Paul resigned and vowed to ask Congress for more support to meet the ally's military needs.
While he followed through on that promise, lawmakers were deadlocked over a new bailout package. House Republicans have called for major border reform before approving additional aid to Ukraine and Israel.
