Zelensky is developing a strategy to bring an end to the conflict.

Ukraine is in the process of preparing a "comprehensive plan" to bring an end to the conflict with Russia, which President Vladimir Zelensky announced should be finalized by the end of this year.

Zelensky made these remarks during a press conference in Kiev following his meeting with Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar on Friday. He emphasized the importance of presenting a plan to end the war that would garner widespread international support, describing it as a diplomatic initiative that Ukraine is actively pursuing.

The "peace formula," a ten-point document unveiled by Zelensky in November 2022, outlines various measures including Russia's withdrawal from Ukrainian territory, reparations, and adherence to war crimes tribunals. While dismissed by Moscow as unrealistic, Zelensky reaffirmed Ukraine's commitment to both strengthening its military capabilities and developing a detailed plan for peace.

Zelensky's comments followed the signing of a long-term security pact with the EU, committing the bloc to provide ongoing military and financial support. Similar agreements have been reached with the US and several allied nations, all pledging sustained assistance to Ukraine.

In Brussels, Zelensky emphasized Ukraine's desire to resolve the conflict swiftly, stating the need to table a settlement plan within the coming months. While casualty figures remain a sensitive issue, Ukraine has insisted on its military resilience despite significant losses reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
