Drone attack on US military base in eastern Syria injures several soldiers: report

Several sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Arabic service of the Russian news agency Sputnik that Thursday night's attack on the al-Omar oil facility resulted in casualties and damaged infrastructure. They added that US military helicopters could be seen taking off from the base and heading north to transport the wounded to other US military bases and field hospitals.

The Islamic Resistance Group of Iraq, a counter-terrorism group, claimed responsibility for the drone attack on a US military base in a statement posted on Telegram. The group stressed that the airstrikes were carried out in support of America's bloody war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The incident came shortly after another drone attack on a US military base in the al-Rukhban region of southeastern Syria. On November 2, the US House of Representatives passed a separate $14.3 billion military aid package for Israel. However, the bill still needs to be approved by the Senate. The United States supported Tel Aviv's brutal attacks on Gaza as a means of "self-defense" and rejected a UN Security Council resolution calling for an end to the occupation regime's attacks.

After the Palestinian resistance movement launched a surprise offensive against the regime known as the Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7, Israel launched brutal air and ground attacks on Gaza, including against hospitals, homes, and places of worship. At least 22,438 Palestinians were killed, mostly women and children. Another 57,614 people were injured.
