Escalating Violence and Settlement Activity
Netanyahu declared on Friday that Israel would be "accelerating the legalisation of farm outposts and establishment of new ones" in the occupied West Bank. Outposts are small settlements typically established without state approval, making them illegal even under Israeli domestic law.
Over the past several days, Israeli settlers, frequently operating under the protection of Israeli forces, have burned or vandalised Palestinian civilian infrastructure, public spaces and agricultural structures. At least 10 Palestinian families have been displaced as a result.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports that Israeli forces have also tightened movement restrictions across the territory, cutting off thousands of Palestinians from emergency medical care and their livelihoods.
