The Ceuta Crisis and Trump's Response
The Spanish Interior Ministry reported that approximately 48,000 of the estimated 50,000 migrants who crossed into Ceuta had voluntarily returned by Friday evening. The unprecedented influx overwhelmed local resources and drew international attention to migration pressures on Europe's southern borders.
Trump referenced the incident in a characteristically sharp social media post, stating: "What's happening with Spain, with tens of thousands of Illegal Immigrants invading it, happened in the United States during the Sleepy Joe Biden Administration, and it will happen again, only worse, if the Dumocrats ever again gain power."
White House principal deputy press secretary Anna Kelly reinforced the president's message, telling reporters that Trump "has long warned Europe what would happen if they continue to implement far-left, globalist policies, including enabling mass migration."
